In my laboratory, we combine molecular biology, mouse genetics, imaging, and physiology techniques to study the structure and function of retinal ganglion cells during development and in a disease condition. Specifically, we focus on the roles of two neurotrophins, brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) and neurotrophin 3 (NT-3), in ganglion cell postnatal maturation and in a mouse glaucoma model.
Northwestern University offers great research environment, and Evanston is a pleasant place to live. Interested individuals please send a CV, a brief statement of research interests, and contact information for three references by email to Dr. Xiaorong Liu, Xiaorong-Liu@northwestern.edu
