Congratulations to Annika Cichy for being awarded an Early Career Research Award (R21) from NIDCD! The goal of the project is to study neural mechanisms of odor valence modulation in female mice.
And congratulations to Maddie Ratkowski for being awarded a Neuroscience Summer Research grant. Her remote (thanks COVID) summer project (with postdoc mentor Ami Shah) will focus on identifying conserved sequence motifs in TAAR gene regulatory elements.
Congratulations to Maddie Ratkowski for being accepted to the NEURON program! You are officially a dendrite.
Annika's paper on class I OR function is published in Current Biology! Check it out.
Farewell and good luck to Sarah Kaye as she heads to graduate school at Wake Forest, and to Amanda Menzie as she heads for warm adventures in sunny Florida. Watch out for gators and "Florida Man".
A big welcome to Research Techs Hallie Kirschner and Sarah Porter!
Annika Cichy was awarded a Polak Young Investigator award at the ACheMS meeting for her work on Class I odorant receptor function, and gave a great talk at the meeting.
Sarah Kaye was accepted to the Neuroscience PhD program at Wake Forest. Congratuations!
Congratulations to Maddie Ratkowski for being awarded a Summer Undergraduate Research Grant.
Congratulations to Kevin Pu for getting into his top choice medical school (University of Washington). U-Dub. Go Huskies.

Adam's paper on olfactory thresholding was also accepted for publication in Nature Communications!
Our paper with Dima Rinberg's lab on odor coding in sister mitral cells is now published in Nature Communications!
Congratulations to Tiffany Teng for her acceptance to medical school at (wait for it) Northwestern's Feinberg School of Medicine. Great school, and she can still come visit!
Ami Shah was awarded an F32 (NRSA) from NIDCD for her work on TAAR gene regulation. Congratulations!
Adam Dewan was awarded an R03 grant from NIDCD for his work on central circuits relating to TAAR function.
Annika Cichy was awarded a two-year grant from the German Research Foundation (Deutche Forschungsgemeinschaft). Congratulations!
