The governmental research institute behind the publicly-funded effort to sequence the human genome.

The Department of Energy (DOE) Human Genome Project Site
The DOE partnered with the National Institutes of Health to organize and execute the human genome project.

The National Bioethics Advisory Commission (NBAC)
Led by forum panelist Dr. Harold Shapiro, the NBAC was formed by former president Clinton on October 3, 1995. The NBAC's role is to "...provide advice and make recommmendations to the National Science and Technology Council...on bioethical isses arising from research on human biology...including the clinical applications of that research."

A leading, UK-based science journal which published the public sequence of the human genome.

Science Magazine
Published by the American Association for the Advancement of Science, Science Magazine is recognized as a leading science journal. Science published the human sequence data of the privately-funded sequencing effort (Celera Genomics).
